World's First Autism Spectrum Web Series

Dear Grandpa It's Michael

Who We Are

Welcome to "Dear Grandpa, It's Michael"—a web series that transcends traditional storytelling by spotlighting the authentic voices of the autism community.

Our mission is to create a platform where diversity and inclusivity are ideals and the fabric of our work. Inspired by the real-life journey of Michael Whitell, our series explores the powerful story of a young man on the autism spectrum who, despite early challenges, finds his voice and shares his life-changing experiences.

We are proud to be a production that authentically represents the autistic community, with nearly half of our cast and crew identifying as being on the spectrum. Through this unique approach, we strive to break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and foster greater understanding and acceptance of neurodiversity.

Why we work

01.

-To Give Hope

In telling Michael’s Story, we want to give hope to families. Whether it’s any family currently struggling with life or families who may have just gotten an autism diagnosis and let them know that it’s not the end of the world and autism does not limit a person’s ability to have a full life with the right support.

02.

-To Teach

We want to educate society and show that every child, with the right support, deserves the opportunity to live a full and meaningful life! Michael’s story allows us to show that because his IBI therapy led him to grow into an independent and accomplished young man, even though he has autism.

03.

-For Autism Community

Right now, there is a huge 86% employment gap for those dealing with Autism, delays for Autism Support Services, and an overall misrepresentation of autistic people throughout the world. Through telling Michael’s story, our autism family web series film project wants to provide coverage on these issues and raise both awareness and clarification.

04.

-For Struggling Families

Michael and Karen’s family story of struggling with autism is no different than other families currently struggling in life. We want to provide this real life family story as motivation to any families out there so that they keep going and not give up.

05.

-To Show Significance

Michael’s real life story shows how autism is on a spectrum and the importance of providing autism services as early as possible and the benefit of those services creating intelligent hardworking individuals for society. With the delays right now in providing autism support services, and the consequences to those autistic individuals not receiving care, our film can show how significant autism services are and who autistic individuals actually behave.

06.

-Offering Opportunities

Our film production company, M3A Pictures, wants to help and represent the autism community any way we can. We want to employ 30% to 40% of people on the autism spectrum for all film projects, especially with the current employment gap for those with autism.
